About
Sara Hewish
Bach. Occupational Therapy with Honours
Mast. of Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapist
Sara has over 20 years clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist, with most of her career devoted to paediatrics. The clinical area of neurosciences has been a common thread throughout her career in OT positions in hospitals (including The Royal Children’s Hospital) and community settings, both locally and overseas. Her experience has enabled her to also undertake research and university tutoring roles.
Sara is passionate about working collaboratively, to always be learning, and applying knowledge in practice to enable participation of children and young people within their daily lives. Seeing that little “I can do it” smile provides a great sense of professional satisfaction and provides the drive to assist children and families in things that matter to them. Sara is an active problem solver, has great attention to detail, and is flexible and reliable – all attributes which support her role as an OT and in running her own practice. Sara’s strong desire for learning and to develop skills lead her to pursue post-graduate study, completing her Master of Occupational Therapy.
Sara founded Just Apples Therapy Services in 2017 with the aim to provide highly regarded, evidenced-based, client-family centered occupational therapy services specifically for children and young people with neurological conditions and children and young people requiring rehabilitation.
